/ French President Emmanuel Macron warned that Israel’s continued launch of sufficiently precise military operations in the Gaza Strip poses a “danger to its security in the long term,” calling again for a ceasefire.
Macron said, “I say this because it is in the security interest of Israel, while continuing to launch operations as they are being launched now constitutes a risk in the long term due to the impact it has on the security of Israel itself in the entire region.”
He added, “We will continue diplomatic initiatives, decisions and discussions to call for a ceasefire, and I will continue bilateral communication in an attempt to reach it concretely.”
Israel launched the war to eliminate Hamas after the movement’s fighters stormed the border fence on October 7, killing 1,200 people and taking 240 hostages, according to what Israel says.
The health authorities in Gaza said that the war, which entered its fourth month, had, as of Tuesday, killed 24,285 people in the Palestinian Strip.
