Chimborazo, In the Penipe canton, 41 producers from the Puchiquíes sector, in the Bayushig parish, and from the Releche Community, in the La Calendaria parish, graduated from the Learning Communities of Peasant Family Agriculture, implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock ( MAG) with the purpose of strengthening the development of the technical capabilities of producers in this sector.
These two groups participated in their sectors in the training given by MAG technicians, obtaining both theoretical and practical knowledge on agricultural issues for sustainable production. In the Puchiquíes sector, training was carried out for members of Asopronipe with a focus on promoting beekeeping.
María Páez, from the Puchiquies sector, highlighted that “the process has been very important, very interesting to learn about beekeeping, it is an excellent group and we have captured everything taught; This will help us when we continue with the bee process.”
“Thanks to the support of the MAG, we have learned about beekeeping, the maintenance of fruit orchards and the planting of ancestral products from the Penipe canton,” said Segundo Zumba, from the San Antonio de Bayushig sector. The Learning Communities are implemented through the Undersecretary of Peasant Family Agriculture, in which producers acquire practical knowledge that will benefit their sectors.
