Mahmoud Abbas announces a general strike to protest the transfer of the American embassy to Jerusalem

The Israeli occupation forces killed 52 Palestinians, while more than 2,400 were injured. Abbas said: The United States is no longer a mediator in the peace process. He added in his speech at the beginning of the Palestinian leadership meeting, today, Monday, that the new American embassy is an “American settlement outpost” in East Jerusalem. The Palestinian President stressed that “our people will not stop their peaceful, popular struggle, and that we will continue to do so until victory by establishing the independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital,” adding that this occasion is more than one occasion, the occasion of the settlement outpost and the occasion of the Nakba that befell our Palestinian people. By moving its embassy to Jerusalem, the United States “excluded itself from political action in the Middle East region and excluded itself from mediation.
