Mahomes speaks out after shooting at Kansas City Chiefs title celebration

At the Super Bowl champion parade – the Kansas City Chiefs – there was confusion and gunfire. The case took place at Kansas City’s Union Station, a historic place in the city. According to the local fire department, 14 people were injured and one died.

Two people were detained, according to police, but it was not known whether they were directly involved in the shooting. Three victims are in critical condition, five are in critical condition and one is not at risk of death.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes said he was praying for his city after the shooting.

“Praying for Kansas City,” the player wrote in a social media post, followed by three praying hands emojis.

Chiefs linebacker Drue Tranquill also asked people to join in prayer for the injured. Mahomes reposted Tranquill’s message on X.

“Pray that doctors and rescuers will have steady hands and that everyone will be fully healed,” he highlighted.

An estimated one million people were in downtown Kansas City this Wednesday (14) to participate in the title celebration of the Super Bowlthe main sports competition in the United States, from the Kansas City Chiefs.

The parade began with Chiefs players on double-decker buses, waving to fans as they drove through the city.

The Chiefs have cemented themselves as the NFL’s latest dynasty, winning the US National Football League championship this year. It is the third time in five years that the team has won the Super Bowl.

Patrick Mahomes, 28, ran along the parade route with his arms outstretched – a similar pose to the one he struck after throwing the winning touchdown in overtime on Sunday (11).
