Chelsea defender Malo Gusto, “victim of flu syndrome”, is out of the two matches of the U23 selection which prepares the Olympic Games on Friday against the Ivory Coast and Monday against the United States, announced the FFF Friday.
Weakened during match eve training on Thursday in Châteauroux, but expected to be a starter in the selection led by Thierry Henry, Gusto’s condition did not improve during the night and the management decided to send him back in his club, without finding a replacement for him.
After Ivory Coast on Friday, a meeting during which, at the request of France, VAR will be used as during the Olympics, the Bleuets will meet Monday in Sochaux, the United States, also their first opponent during the Olympic tournament on July 24.
