The theme music in the CBI diary is not something that anyone can forget so quickly. This background music, which was born three and a half decades ago, is still very popular among the Malayalee audience. Recently, it was reported that the screenwriter of the film had said that AR Rahman, then Shyam’s assistant, was behind the CBI theme music. But years ago, director Manorama News shared his experience of composing background music for the film on Mars. Shyam’s words:

“Fifty per cent of the film’s is for songs and the other 50 per cent is for re – recording. Rerecording is a test for the music director. Songs can take time at any time, but re – recording is not like that. That theme music came to mind: Sethuramayya’s style and style came to mind. Mammootty’s style is an important factor.
