Airport police have arrested a van driver who tried to enter the Katunayake airport with 25 kg of potassium perchloride. A 65 year old man from Negombo has been arrested.
The arrested suspect has been handed over to the Katunayake Airport Police Station along with the seized explosives for further investigations. Such investigations have been initiated.
The suspect said that he was involved in the business of making firecrackers at that time and that is why he brought them with permission. Police are conducting further investigations.
