Recently also an investor: Marco Odermatt joined the Swiss sportswear brand
Marco Odermatt will no longer be a skier in the future. As an investor, he wants to actively help to further develop his supplier X-BIONIC. The Nidwalden native is extending his contract with his main sponsor Red Bull.
Marco Odermatt can be happy: He is extending his contract with Red Bull and investing in his supplier X-BIONIC.
Shortly before the start of the season, Swiss ski star Marco Odermatt announced news of existing partnerships. The 27-year-old joins his long-term supplier, Swiss performance sports brand X-Bionic, as an investor. “Marco’s relentless pursuit of excellence on and off the track inspires us as a team,” says Maximilian Lenk, CEO of X-BIONIC, about the collaboration.
The clothing brand, which has been successful for 25 years, stands for innovative materials and patented technologies. In the future, she will be able to rely on Odermatt when it comes to driving product innovation and spreading X-BIONIC more widely in the sports community around the world.

The double world champion is not the first athlete to take an entrepreneurial step during his career by becoming an investor in the Swiss brand. For example, we remember Roger Federer, who became an investor in the On brand at the end of 2019. Like Federer at that time, Odermatt wants to “position the company as a global market leader”. The ski star can also identify very well with the values that the company represents, which, he says, include “always improving and delivering the best possible quality every day.”
Red Bull and Odermatt expand
But that is not enough. Shortly before the start of the 24/25 World Cup season, Odermatt announced a multi-year contract extension with his main sponsor Red Bull “It’s very valuable for me to have someone on my side who understands the challenges of a world-class sport . ” says Odermatt about the collaboration with the Austrian beverage manufacturer.
Red Bull expands with Odermatt. And therefore it is still in the most prominent position on his helmet.
Patrick Riml, alpine manager at Red Bull’s athlete project, is equally happy about continuing the partnership. “The entire Red Bull team appreciates his warm and professional manner and we look forward to being able to accompany him on his journey over the next few years and provide the best possible support,” says Riml.
Odermatt’s continued collaboration and long-term commitment, according to his manager Michael Schiendorfer, will make him the male counterpart of Lindsey Vonn. The downhill specialist, who has been in the media recently for a possible comeback, has been working with Red Bull for the past two decades.
Even after the end of her career in 2019, she was able to continue relying on the support of the drink manufacturer and remained one of the biggest figures of the brand. With the extension of his contract, Odermatt will remain a Red Bull brand ambassador and will be able to rely in particular on the opportunities offered by the Athletes’ Performance Center in Thalgau, near Salzburg.
