Maria Stadnik, wrestler of the Azerbaijani freestyle wrestling team, stated this in an interview with İdman.biz TV.
An athlete in the weight category up to 50 kg assessed her preparation for the European Olympic qualifying tournament, which will be held on April 5-7:
“I feel good. Physically I’m in normal shape. Now we are going through the last final stage of preparation. This is more training on the mat. We will have training. We will prepare and be in good shape for the competition.”
The three-time world champion and ten-time European champion said she believes she will take part in the Olympic Games for the fifth time and spoke about her main competitors along the way: “Of course, I feel that I will win the license. If I didn’t feel that, I wouldn’t I was engaged in wrestling. My main competitors are participants in the European Championship – Ukrainian, Russian, Belarusian wrestlers. Opponents are always aggressive because they want to win. But in principle, I am ready for this. We went to the European Championship to test ourselves and our strengths before this competition to “feel” our opponents who will be at the tournament.”
Note that at the Summer Olympics Stadnik won two silver medals (London 2012 and Rio de Janeiro 2016) and two bronze medals (Beijing 2008 and Tokyo 2020).
