The EU looks forward to working with Azerbaijan to achieve a successful outcome at COP29.
As Day.Az reported on Tuesday, this was noted in the conclusions of the Council of the European Union (EU) on “green diplomacy”.
“The Council thanks the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for hosting the UN Climate Change Conference (COP28) in Dubai and welcomes the adoption of the UAE Consensus. The EU looks forward to working with all partners, including the troika – the United Arab Emirates and future Presidencies COP – Azerbaijan and Brazil to achieve successful and ambitious results for COP29 and COP30.
The Council invites partners to work with the EU to develop a global approach to carbon pricing as the most effective and cost-effective method of reducing emissions,” the EU Council’s conclusions say.
Let us remind you that in 2024, Azerbaijan will host the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change – COP29. This decision was made at the COP28 plenary meeting held in Dubai on December 11, 2023.
