The death of 14 people, including Indian Army Commander Vipin Rawat, in a plane crash yesterday has caused shock and grief among the Indian people.
Maridas has also been charged with making anti-government remarks in connection with the plane crash. Knowing that the case had been registered, Maridas deleted his record. Police said Maridas was arrested today after making controversial remarks in some other cases. Madurai Metropolitan Police Commissioner Prem Ananda Sinha said that a case has been registered against him and he has been arrested.
