The authorities in Bogotá captured Marlon Castro, father of little Dilan Santiago, whose death under suspicious circumstances shocked the city last weekend in the town of Usme.
However, Castro’s capture is not related to the tragic death of his son, but rather to a case of domestic violence. The Tolima Sectional Prosecutor’s Office of the municipality of Ataco issued an arrest warrant against him for this crime.
Dilan Santiago’s father was arrested on February 13, 2024 while he was conducting an investigation in the Paloquemao courts. in the case of the death of the child under two years of age.
According to investigations, Castro would have exercised physical violence against the child’s mother, Derly Rivas.in November 2023 in the municipality of Ataco, Tolima.
Recently, a Legal Medicine report revealed that the cause of the Dilan Santiago’s death was determined to be a homicide due to mechanical asphyxiation. This has led to an intensification of the investigation into the boy’s murder.
