Marrakech: Artistic and spiritual evening for the benefit of Parkinson’s patients and their families

by times news cr

Initiated by the Maroc Parkinson Association, this event aims to provide psychological support to this category of patients, to alleviate their suffering and to bring them out of the isolation caused by this disabling disease.

This colorful artistic evening, beyond its social and solidarity dimension, was also an opportunity to celebrate, as it should, the authentic Moroccan artistic heritage in particular, Aissaoui art, Dakka Marrakchia, Samaâ, Al Inchad and Melhoun.

One of the highlights of this beautiful evening was the masterful interpretation of “Takassim Al Oud”, followed by a series of new shows given by experienced magicians, enough to further enhance this eclectic event and excite the public present, wonder and joy.

This artistic journey through several of Morocco’s most emblematic musical genres also served as a moment of comfort for people suffering from this disease, who greatly appreciated this initiative which demonstrates, if necessary, the commitment of the Association Maroc Parkinson to work towards improving the quality of life of patients.

In a statement to M24, the MAP’s continuous news television channel, the president of the Maroc Parkinson Association, Mr. Mohamed Agli, stressed that this concert is part of the strategy of his association aiming to raise awareness and better communicate around this chronic disease as well as the factors of its development, with a focus on the constraints linked to better management of this disease.

This strategy is broken down into several actions, notably Open Days, Excursions and Fun Trips organized for the benefit of Parkinson’s patients and their families, Scientific Conferences, in addition to a real program of artistic activities, he explained.

In this sense, he noted that this evening offered the opportunity to review the main annual activities of the association in the field of support for people with Parkinson’s, as well as the main constraints facing the association in the field of patient support.

In a similar statement, the vice-president of the association, Prof. Najib Kissani, indicated that this very costly disease affects nearly 2% of the Moroccan population, noting that the causes of this disease still remain poorly known even if some Specialists point the finger at pollution, excessive and poor use of pesticides in agriculture as well as heavy metals.

The president of the communication commission of this association, Mr. Abderrahim Ait Kirou, for his part, underlined the need to fight against the isolation of people suffering from this pathology, highlighting the results of the achievements of this association during the current year, despite several constraints.

Created in 2005 by a committee made up of associative actors, specialist doctors, surgeons, Parkinson’s patients and their families, the Maroc Parkinson Association aims to accompany and support Parkinson’s patients and their families, with the aim of alleviating the socio-medical repercussions of this pathology.
