Mayor Arya violated oath: Complaint to Election Commission – Youth Congress

by time news

Thiruvananthapuram ∙ Youth Congress filed a complaint with the National Election Commission against Mayor Arya Rajendran. The complaint says that the oath was violated. The complaint was filed by JS Akhil, a member of the National Committee.

The action of Youth Congress comes after Mayor Arya’s letter to CPM District Secretary Anavoor Nagappan asking for a list of party members to be inserted into 295 temporary posts in Thiruvananthapuram Corporation. After the letter came out, there was severe criticism against the mayor and the CPM.

Protests by the Youth Congress and the BJP to the corporation resulted in a clash. Youth Congress state president Shafi Parambil demanded that the mayor, who had given the appointments in the corporation to the party, should resign. The mayor became the youngest corrupt woman. Shafi said that all the appointments made so far in the corporation should be investigated and the Youth Congress would go ahead with the protest.
