After the coliform bacteria infections at McDonald’s in the United States, the number of sick people has risen to 75, according to authorities. At least 22 of them are being treated in hospitals, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said on Friday. According to initial information, one person also died due to the infection.

Most had eaten the same burger. The fast food giant then recalled a product from the market and sliced the onions. Several fast food chains are now following suit.
The Yum! Brands such as Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), Pizza Hut and Taco Bell, as well as Burger King, have also removed fresh sliced onions from their range as a precaution, report the Washington Post and US broadcaster NBC.
