What an acting debut!
Before Meghan Markle (42) became the Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry’s wife (39) was seen in the series “Suits”. There she played attorney Rachel Zane for seven seasons from 2011 to 2018. As is well known, Prince William (40) and his Kate (41) were also huge fans of the series.
Were the two also so enthusiastic about Markle’s very first TV job? At the tender age of 11, the actress was in front of the camera for the cult series “A Terribly Nice Family”.

How did she land a role on the popular show? Her father, Thomas Markle (61), worked for ten seasons as a lighting assistant and cameraman on the set. Every week Meghan would go to the shooting after school and watch her dad at work.

The leading actor Ed O’Neill (77) even remembered little Meghan. In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres (65) in 2019 he revealed: “By the way, Meghan grew up on the set of ‘Awfully Nice Family’. Did you know that? Her father was a cameraman. She always came on set in a little Catholic school uniform. She was about nine.”
In 1995 she was even allowed to be in front of the camera together with series favorite Christina Applegate (51). Applegate played daughter Kelly, affectionately known as “dumper”. Back then, Meghan was just a bored student, but in one of the most famous sitcoms of all time!

“For 10 years, every day after school I was on the set of Awful Family, which is a really fun and perverted place for a little girl in a Catholic school uniform to grow up,” Meghan herself told Esquire in 2018. -Interview.

“Imagine me, with my curly hair, a gap between my teeth and my small school uniform, looking up at these very sexy women and saying ‘Hi’. It was a big change from Immaculate Heart Catholic School,” Meghan recalled.
However, when things got a little too wild on the show, little Meghan had to leave. “My dad used to say to me, ‘Meg, why don’t you help in the craft room over there? That’s a little too colorful for your 11-year-old eyes’.”
