Melania Olcina is interpreter, choreographer, video artist and choreographic assistant. She has a degree in Art History from the Complutense University of Madrid (2009), a diploma in Contemporary Dance from the Mariemma Royal Professional Conservatory of Madrid (2008) and a master’s degree in Thought and Contemporary Scenic Creation from the Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático de Castilla y León. Throughout his career he has obtained different awards and scholarships as a performer at national and international dance festivals, such as the Impulstanz International Festival of Vienna (2009); Carlos III University of Madrid (2009), among others.

As a performer, he has worked with Pedro Berdayes, interpreting some of his pieces as “Allegro ma non tropo” or “To be Continued”.

He has also worked under Jose Reches o Jesus Rubio Gamo in “Sinnerman” for which she was awarded the First Prize and the Audience Award at the Carlos III University Choreography Contest and the Jury’s Third Prize at the XXIII Madrid Choreographic Contest.

He has worked with Teresa Nieto and was part of the ballet of Carmen Roche.

Currently, he works for the Sharon Fridman Company since 2013 in “Free fall” and since 2010 with Antonio Ruz in pieces such as “Recreo01”, “Unknown”.

As a choreographer, she has made short commissioned pieces such as “organic only” (2008) and “I have the ambition of an ant” (2015), on the occasion of the 75th RCPD Mariemma Gala.

As a teacher, he has been in charge of Youth in Movement Project Trasdanza Promoted by the Madrid Association of Dance Professionals (2012-13) and by the Blanca Li Southern Culture Foundation (2011-2013).

For her part, Rafaela Carrasco is an outstanding flamenco figure as a choreographer and dancer. He created his own company in 2002, year in which he won the main prizes of the XI Spanish Dance and Flamenco Choreography Contest. She was director of the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía from 2013 to September 2016.

A great connoisseur of Spanish dance and flamenco, her training has been linked to two great teachers: Matilde Coral and Mario Maya.

His professional career is marked by dance research and a particular vision of flamenco, absorbing knowledge from other disciplines, without abandoning the roots of the genre.

In 1996, Carrasco moved from Seville to Madrid and since then he has worked with prestigious companies and figures: Belén Maya, Israel Galván, Javier Barón, Adrián Galia, Rafael Amargo, Ricardo Franco, Teresa Nieto, Ramón Oller, Antonio Canales, Farruquito, Duquende, Chicuelo and Merche Esmeralda, among others.
