Terrible accident in the night from Friday to Saturday. A 38-year-old man driving a scooter was run over by a young man driving an Audi around 2:40 a.m. near the Pénétrante roundabout, on the departmental road D1009T, between Le Mée-sur-Seine and Melun ( Seine et Marne). The victim died instantly. The 25-year-old driver of the car was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. He was taken into custody. An investigation has been opened for manslaughter.
At around 2:40 a.m. that night, two young people were in an Audi car, near the Pénétrante roundabout, in Melun. According to several witnesses, the driver was driving at high speed on the secondary road. He hit the victim who was driving the scooter violently from behind. The latter died instantly.
The driver had consumed “a large quantity of alcohol”
The two young people were arrested, then taken into custody by the police. At first, the driver refuses to evade a blood alcohol test. But his manifest state of drunkenness then leaves no doubt. It was only on the morning of this Saturday that he finally accepted a screening at the police station. The result confirms that he was very alcoholic at the time of the events.
Subsequently, this 25-year-old admitted to the investigators that he had consumed a large quantity of alcohol in the evening before driving his Audi. As for the passenger, he said he did not know “no more than that” the driver before getting into his vehicle. The charges were therefore dropped against him.
On September 1, a 46-year-old resident of Brie-Comte-Robert also lost his life on the handlebars of his scooter in an accident on an exit ramp from the national 104 towards Servon. Knocked down by a first car, he was fatally hit by a second. The first driver, who was driving too fast, fled. It was the second who had alerted the emergency services.
