Speaking on this occasion, the Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, underlined that the “Nostalgia” program has experienced, as its launch in 2022, real enthusiasm from Moroccans, explaining that these shows deliver captivating stories about the Kingdom’s history and its rich cultural heritage.
These drone shows, which take place in this historic site with a strong symbolic charge, will be an opportunity to discover part of the history of the Merinids in this region in an innovative way, indicated Mr. Bensaid, adding that the “Nostalgia” program ” is part of the ministry’s commitment to promoting cultural industries.
These exceptional drone shows will continue with three historic performances per day, namely at 9 p.m., 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. This initiative aims to enable citizens and foreign visitors to discover the history of the Kingdom’s archaeological sites in a creative way.
The first edition of the “Nostalgia, the emotions of yesteryear” program attracted around 20,000 people to Chellah before stopping at several other archaeological sites, including the Bahia Palace and the Badii Palace in Marrakech, Place Outa El Hamam, the spaces of the historic Kasbah and the open-air theater of Chefchaouen, as well as the Cave of hercules in Tangier.
The Chellah archaeological site is one of the most crucial historical sites in the capital. It was built during the sixth or seventh century BC and carries within it the magic of the place and an ancestral architecture which transports the visitor to several eras of the history of the Kingdom.
