Meryl Streep has been awarded the 2023 Princess of Asturias Award for the Arts, as the institution made public this Wednesday. The actress takes over from the singer Carmen Linares and the dancer and choreographer María Páges, who received the same distinction in 2022. A total of 44 candidates from 20 nationalities opted for the recognition. His was proposed by Pedro Almodóvar. The award is endowed with a sculpture of Joan Miró –symbol of the decoration–, an accrediting diploma, a badge and the cash amount of 50,000 euros.
