Mexican presidential candidate from the Strength and Heart for Mexico alliance, Xochitl Galvez, sealed her promise with blood to lower the retirement age from 65 to 60 years. As Day.Az reports, a video of her speech at an election rally in the city of Irapuato (Guanajuato state) was published on the social network X.

The politician stated that the retirement age would be 60 years old, after which she signed a document with her promises in the presence of a notary, and above the signature she put a bloody print of the index finger of her left hand.

“They (the promises – editor’s note) are sealed with my blood – this is the most valuable thing I have,” Galvez said, promising that social programs will not be canceled.

Presidential elections in Mexico are scheduled for June 2, 2024. The country’s current president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, will not participate in the upcoming elections, since the constitution does not provide for re-election. The President of Mexico is directly elected for a six-year term without the right to re-election.
