Raphaël Glucksmann welcomes “the moves” of the political class but does not expect “a great evening”
Guest of BFM-TV and RMC this Thursday morning, MEP Place publique, who led the list of the Socialist party in the last European elections, congratulated “moves within the political class”in recent days. That it was the first secretary of the PS, Olivier Faure, who called on Tuesday “accept compromises” and the “mutual concessions” or Emmanuel Macron who brought together all the political forces, excluding the RN and LFI.
“We are finally taking the results of the July 7 legislative elections seriously. Who won on July 7th? It is the republican front, the refusal to give up command to Le Pen and Bardella”estimated the MEP.Gold for mr. Glucksmann, from the second round of the legislative elections“We absolutely did not respect the Republican front. As if we had won on the left, as if we could continue as before on Emmauel Macron’s side.”he complained. “The result was giving the keys to Marine Le Pen”who hastened michel Barnier’s downfall by voting in favor of censorship, the elected official added.
For Mr. Glucksmann there is now “an opportunity to change political methods and our relationship with power”.“In other European democracies, when we find ourselves in a situation like this, we discuss how to find the majority”which invites political leaders to do so “agree to talk to the people with whom [ils ne sont] I don’t agree”.
While today the National Assembly is divided into eleven parliamentary groups and three more or less equivalent blocs, Glucksmann admits that untill the next presidential elections “there won’t be a great evening”with critically important reforms, due to lack of political agreement but the left must do it “scratch, tear progress”. He also rejects La France insoumise’s ambition to push Emmanuel Macron to resign to allow early presidential elections. “To get his resignation, will we descend into chaos? One censure, two censures, three censures… Meanwhile the economy is collapsing, the country is not governed, the farmers are unable to come to terms with anyone. So what do we do? »he asked.
