Mitsubishi Motors is considering resuming domestic sales of the Pajero

It was revealed on the 22nd that Mitsubishi Motors is considering reviving its flagship leisure utility vehicle (RV), the Pajero, and resuming domestic sales in 2027. Production for the domestic market ended in 2019 due to sluggish sales, but the decision was made based on the strong desire among fans.

The revived Pajero is expected to be produced at a factory in Southeast Asia and imported to Japan. The plan is to make it a sports utility vehicle (SUV) based on the Triton pickup truck. Details such as price will be finalized in the future.

Pajero was released in 1982 and led the RV boom in the 1990s. It was also featured in the Dakar Rally, an automobile competition, and became a symbol of Mitsubishi Motors.
