Moana 2 rocked theaters

Moana 2 shined ⁣in theaters across the country this weekend, selling out many screenings. According to Ultracine,586,005 people ⁣saw it in 618 theaters,so the average was 948 for each of them,which is unusual these days.

Far, far away, Gladiator 2 pulled in around ‍90,235 viewers and Wicked came in third wiht 34,600.

The numbers in theaters ‌were really good thanks to Moana 2. Coincidentally, as is almost normal in Disney premieres, it‍ rained… even if only on Sunday. That’s why a total of 233,000 tickets ⁢were sold ⁢on Saturday while 283,000 were sold ⁤on⁢ sunday. ⁢Normally there are fewer ⁢sales on Sundays than on Saturdays, but this is caused by the rains.

Over the 4-day total, nearly 777,000 ‌tickets ⁤were sold, which represents a growth of 176% compared to the previous weekend, something similar to last year, but 290% more than 2019.

Usually the ⁣box office ‍in this period is not strong,except ⁣for some specific releases,which at the time was Harry Potter,while Disney was always torn between releasing it at‍ the same time as the US or moving it to January.Something they clearly didn’t do this year and the numbers ⁢supported this good decision.
