Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova Andrei Spinu said that an independent audit of Moldova’s gas debt would be conducted by May 1, 2022, and the parties would sign an agreement on reimbursement of the debt.

During the period from October 27 to 29, Moldovagaz and Gazprom held negotiations, after which they signed a contract for the supply of gas to Moldova from November 1. Andrei Spinu said that the approximate cost of gas will be $ 450 per 1,000 cubic meters. m.

The old contract with Gazprom expired in September this year and was extended for the period of negotiations until the end of October. Last year, the country paid an average of $ 148 per thousand cubic meters, in September this year – $ 550, and in October – $ 790. Chisinau sought to reduce this figure to $ 200-300. Gazprom announced its readiness to extend the contract for November, if Moldova pays in full for the supplies for September and October this year, while the company is required to pay a debt of $ 709 million.
