The fifth season of “Kompani Lauritzen” can now be seen on TV 2, and dancer Mona Berntsen (33) is one of the participants who constantly impresses viewers with her willingness to stand up and her courage.

In Saturday’s episode, however, we get to see a more vulnerable side of Berntsen.

Reveals new job

The participants will learn to shoot and become familiar with weapons, but as the 33-year-old picks up the weapon, she is quickly reminded of a powerful incident she experienced when she lived in the United States.

Eleven people died

– My relationship with weapons is very heavy. It was like a reminder that I have things I haven’t processed when it comes to those sounds and weapons. I don’t associate this with New Year’s Eve sounds anymore – I associate this with shootings in the States, because that’s what I’ve experienced, she says in the episode.

– Difficult not to intervene

Berntsen says that she tried to think that this exercise in “Kompani Lauritzen” was just supposed to be fun, but that her body did not agree with the idea, as the previous incident was still deeply ingrained.

– The last shooting I was around, we had to hide under a bunker in the stadium because there was shooting fifteen meters up the street, and eleven people died. So I have no relation to shooting in a pleasant way. I remember it so well.

– I regretted it very much

– Sitting inside with a lot

The dancer says that she quickly understood that there were a number of things that she had normalized and put a lid on.

– This suddenly became much more important to me. Here is something I haven’t processed, which is still inside me. I’m actually sitting inside with a number of things that I find uncomfortable and that I don’t want to be there.

Despite painful flashbacks, Berntsen still tries to think that the exercise at “Company Lauritzen” should readjust these thoughts, and after a conversation with the lieutenant colonel, she gathers the strength to carry it out.

Mona Berntsen has not responded to Se og Hør’s inquiry.
