Selected as a representative project in the cultural sector by the Digital Platform Government (DPG)
The ‘Culture Portal’ operated by the Korea Cultural Information Service (Director Jeong Un-hyeon, hereinafter Moon Jeong-won) will participate in the ‘2024 Korea Government Expo’ held at the Kimdaejung Convention Center in Gwangju from the 13th to the 15th.
The cultural portal was selected as a representative project in the cultural field of the Digital Platform Government (DPG) National Dream Project in May 2024, and at this expo, ’Cultural Life Support Integrated Services’ will be showcased in the DPG special pavilion (7 organizations). .
Through this expo, the cultural portal plans to introduce major menus such as ‘integrated cultural life support services’ and ‘specialized services for culturally vulnerable groups’ and emphasize its role as an integrated platform for cultural information.
The main items of the integrated service include contest information, education information, qualifications, and civil affairs administration, and the service is scheduled to gradually expand starting with the contest information integrated service from the first half of 2025. In addition, specialized services for culturally vulnerable groups began their first service last July and are currently available on cultural portals.
Director Jeong Woon-hyeon of the Korea Cultural Information Service said, “Like the cultural portal’s slogan, ‘Culture made easier and more enjoyable,’ we will continue to be reborn as a representative cultural information platform that provides quality content and convenient services that people can enjoy easily and happily.” .
During the expo, the Culture Portal booth operates various programs such as Culture Portal main menu curation, Culture Portal Instagram follow & like event, and mobile ‘Qi’ chatbot service and demonstration.
The cultural portal is establishing itself as an innovative digital government service that integrates various cultural information in line with the digital era and helps people enjoy cultural life more easily. We plan to further expand the possibilities through this expo.

Interview between the Time.news Editor and Jeong Woon-hyeon, Director of the Korea Cultural Information Service
Time.news Editor: Welcome, Jeong Woon-hyeon! We’re excited to have you with us today. Your project, the Cultural Portal, has recently been selected as a representative project by the Digital Platform Government. What does this recognition mean for you and your team?
Jeong Woon-hyeon: Thank you for having me! Being chosen as a representative project is indeed an honor for us. It validates the efforts we have put into developing the Cultural Portal as an integrated platform for cultural information. This recognition encourages us to enhance our services and reach more people, especially those who may find culture less accessible.
Time.news Editor: That’s fantastic! Can you explain a bit more about the ‘Cultural Life Support Integrated Services’ that will be showcased at the upcoming Korea Government Expo?
Jeong Woon-hyeon: Absolutely. At the expo, we will demonstrate our integrated cultural life support services, which include crucial areas like contest information, educational opportunities, and services tailored for the culturally vulnerable groups. We want to ensure that everyone, regardless of their background, has access to enriching cultural experiences.
Time.news Editor: It sounds like an ambitious yet vital initiative. How do you plan to implement these services, and what can users expect in terms of accessibility?
Jeong Woon-hyeon: We are rolling out these services gradually. Starting in the first half of 2025, we will begin with contest information, which will help users stay informed about various cultural contests and programs. To enhance accessibility, we’re also incorporating features specifically designed for culturally vulnerable groups, reflecting our commitment to inclusivity.
Time.news Editor: The concept of inclusivity in cultural offerings is so important! Can you tell us how the Cultural Portal plans to engage with users at the expo?
Jeong Woon-hyeon: During the expo, our booth will feature interactive programs, including curated content from the Cultural Portal, an Instagram engagement event for attendees, and a demonstration of our mobile ‘Qi’ chatbot service. This interactive approach allows us to gather feedback and better understand the preferences of our community.
Time.news Editor: Engaging with the audience is key. With digital transformation shaping the cultural landscape, what role do you envision for the Cultural Portal over the next few years?
Jeong Woon-hyeon: We aspire to be a leading digital gateway that connects people with cultural resources easily and enjoyably. As we innovate and expand our services, we’ll continue to focus on high-quality content and user-friendly experiences. Ultimately, we want everyone to feel that “culture is made easier and more enjoyable.”
Time.news Editor: That is a wonderful vision! Before we wrap up, is there any message you would like to share with the audience regarding the Cultural Portal and its future?
Jeong Woon-hyeon: I encourage everyone to engage with the Cultural Portal and explore the resources we offer. We are dedicated to creating a platform that not only informs but also inspires, brings joy, and fosters a sense of community through culture. Keep an eye on our developments as we continue to grow and evolve!
