Morocco‘s achievements in football are a motivation for African countries (Victor Osimhen)
Marrakech – Morocco’s achievements in the field of football are a motivation for African countries to make efforts to develop the practice of this sport, Nigerian international Victor Osimhen said Monday in Marrakech.
Speaking at a press conference after winning the trophy for best African player of the year during the CAF Awards 2023 ceremony, the SSC Naples member stressed that “the Kingdom has managed to capitalize on its potential and other countries on the continent are called upon to replicate what Morocco is doing for the development of football”, emphasizing the world-class infrastructure available to the Kingdom.
Returning to the award for best African player of the year, Osimhen noted that it means a lot to him and comes after a long path of preparation and effort.
The Nigeria international remarked that “the competition with the other nominees was tight”, noting that African football has grown significantly and is full of talent.
Morocco hosted for the 2nd consecutive year the CAF Awards, which celebrate the excellence of African football, after the 2022 edition held at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maâmora.
