Psychological health

Walid Sarhan, a consultant psychiatrist at the University of Jordan, said that there is a health system in Jordan that serves people in all regions and governorates, and psychological care can reach all regions without cost.

He added, during a phone call to the “Matrouh for Discussion” program, broadcast on the “Cairo News” satellite channel, that despite the psychological service that is provided in Jordan, we are not satisfied with it or satisfied with what has been achieved, and we demand more, while giving mental health a priority within health programs in general.

He pointed out that most Arab countries put mental health at the last of their priorities, which leads to a lack of psychological teams and a lack of capabilities and integrated services.

He continued: For years, we have been calling for Arab strategies to confront mental health problems and benefit from the experiences of some countries, but this did not happen and some psychological work is still separate from some countries, and this is considered an administrative weakness.
