Dubai ∙ Twenty-seventh Dubai International Quran Award to Bahraini citizen Muhammad Al Amri. Naji Bin Slimane, a native of Libya, won the second place and Sheikh Tijan Ambi, a native of the Gambia, won the third place. There is also a special award for those who reach the top 10 positions. Dubai Sports Council Chairman Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan distributed the awards to the winners.

The winners were determined by checking the memorization of the Quran with no grammatical errors. The prize for the winner is 2.5 lakh dirhams. The second runner-up will get Dh2 lakh and the third runner-up will get Dh1.5 lakh. 65,000, 60,000, 55,000, 50,000, 45,000, 40,000 and 35,000 dirhams will be awarded to the 4th to 10th place winners respectively. Incentives are also given to all the participants.

Sheikha Hind Islamic personality
Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, wife of UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, was presented with the Islamic Personality of the Year Award in connection with the Dubai International Holy Qur’an Competition. The award honors the contributions made to social and philanthropic activities and Islam.

The award ceremony was held at the Dubai Cultural and Scientific Association Hall. Sheikh Saeed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum received the award in the absence of Sheikha Hind.
