Kannur: Murder: CPM activist hacked to death near New Mahi, Thalassery. The deceased was identified as Haridas, a native of Punnol. The deceased Haridas was a fisherman. He was on his way home from work at around 2 in the morning when he was shot near his house.

The body is currently at Thalassery Co-operative Hospital. The CPM accused the RSS of being behind the attack. The gang, who arrived on two bikes, was brutally murdered. Haridasan’s severed leg was completely amputated. As the violence took place near the house, relatives also rushed to the spot after hearing the noise. The brutal violence took place in front of them.

Sahojaran Suran, who was trying to stop the violence against Haridasan, was also hacked. Haridas, who was in critical condition, was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Last week, the CPM-BJP clashed in the Punnol area in connection with the festival.

More police have been deployed in the area where the violence took place. Police are on high alert to prevent further violence. Meanwhile, hartals have been called in Thalassery Garasabha and New Mahi panchayat to protest the murder of CPM activist Haridasan. The hartal is from 6 am to 6 pm.

Police have launched an investigation into the attackers’ bike, which was used by relatives to track down the killers. According to the relatives, the police have received a rough idea about the culprits.
