Marcello Mutti, 83 years old, owner of the historical and eponymous Emilian company specialized in tomato processing and canning, has died. The entrepreneur died on Wednesday evening. Mutti, a historic company from Parma, is a European leader in the tomato derivatives market. Its origins date back to 1899 when Marcellino and Callisto Mutti started the first tomato transformation campaign. Today the Mutti Group, with more than 125 years of history, is present in 100 countries worldwide with a net turnover in 2023 of 665 million euros and 525,000 tons of tomatoes processed in the same year. In terms of sales, export volumes in 2023 exceeded Italian sales volumes after double-digit growth every year.
