In a press release, the ministry indicates that this extension takes place in accordance with the provisions of article 8 of the decree creating this Prize, and with a view to allowing all journalists to complete their application files.
This National Prize covers several categories, namely the television prize, the radio prize, the written press prize, the electronic press prize, the press agency prize, the press prize regional, the prize for Amazigh journalistic production, the prize for journalistic production on Sahrawi Hassani culture and space, the photography prize, the investigative journalism prize and the caricature prize, adds the same source.
There is also an honorary prize in tribute to a national personality having contributed in an exceptional manner to the evolution of the national media landscape and the consecration of the noble principles of the profession, as well as another honorary prize awarded to Moroccan journalists working in organs foreign press, in Morocco or abroad.
The candidate must be of Moroccan nationality, practicing the profession for at least three years in one of the national or regional media establishments and hold the press card for the current year.
He must not be a member of either the organizing committee or the jury of the Prize, just as he must not be a winner of this Prize during the last three editions, adds the ministry, indicating that candidates can present their application individually or collectively as part of a work team.
The application must only concern one work for each prize category, with the exception of the photography prize for which candidates can submit up to ten works maximum.
In addition, each media establishment can nominate a journalist or a team working in the establishment, it is emphasized.
The competing works must be presented as published or broadcast in one of the national or regional media during the period extending from October 1, 2023 to the end of September 2024, continues the same source, noting that it is, by elsewhere, it is obligatory for electronic press organs to keep the works in the running, on their websites, until the winners are announced.
The works must be submitted to the secretariat of the GPNP organizing committee at the headquarters of the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication (Communication Department) located at Avenue Allal El Fassi, Al Irfane, Rabat, accompanied by the application form. application for the Prize, downloadable via the website “www.mjcc.gov.ma” from October 1 to 20, 2024.
