After the end of the golden era of Dhakai films, the invasion of cut-piece cinema began in the late nineties. After 2000 several artists were accused of acting in obscene scenes.

In this situation, movie lovers started to turn away. Despite the strict stance of the government at that time, there are allegations of showing obscene movies in some theaters of the country.

Recently, the police seized cut-piece movies from two cinema halls outside Dhaka. The seized films are sent to the Film Certification Board. The members of the certification board were embarrassed to see the pornographic movie with cut-pieces.

On Tuesday (October 15), members of the certification board watched two seized movies titled ‘Jandrel’ and ‘Shakra Ghayel’. It was alleged that obscene cut-piece scenes were being shown in the movie. Later, the members of the board also got its truth.

It is known that these movies were seized from two theaters named Rupa and Labani located outside Dhaka.

Actress Kazi Nowshaba Ahmed, a member of the certification board, said, ‘Watching these movies was embarrassing for me. In a movie, a strangely absurd scene is included. Such movies are not for the audience of any civilized country.’

Kazi Nowshaba Ahmed said, “These movies are harmful for society.” We have given the opinion with reasonable cause. Now freedom does not mean irresponsibility, but showing responsibility. We must give special importance to creative works. The cinema that will have some importance in the formation of society.’

Some of the certification board also said that those who are showing obscene movies should be brought under the law.

After research, it is known that the pornographic films made ten years ago are being converted into digital format and are being shown in some theatres. Sometimes posters of obscene movies are also seen in front of different theaters of the country.
