The host of the ceremony will be “Danube grain – Ruse”
Nationally discovery on harvest campaign 2023 and threshing of rye under the “Bread of Peace” project will take place on June 28, 2023.
Traditionally, every year a representative of the National Association of Grain Producers (NOT) from a different region of the country is hosting the event. This year is the Regional Union of Farmers – Danube Grain – Ruse. The guest of the event will be the Minister of Agriculture and Food Kiril Vatev.
The program includes statements by the official guests, and after the event there will be an opportunity for questions from the media.
The opening of Harvest 2023 will take place under the motto “With good in the heart, with love in the field”.
“At the heart of the campaign is the idea that kindness and love for the earth keep us upright despite the storms and help us to bear the difficulties stoically,” says Iliya Prodanov, chairman of the NAZ.
Together with the National opening of the harvest campaign, we will also do a ritual harvesting of rye under the international project “Bread of Peace”.
The “Bread of Peace” project is a European initiative involving twelve countries from Central and Eastern Europe. Bulgaria is one of them. The project began in 2014 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall and the Iron Curtain. The event symbolizes the breaking down of political and economic boundaries and the overcoming of division. The main role of “Bread of Peace” is to focus public attention on the benefits of cooperation and unification of countries within the EU.
