Nellie Kannan, Tamil Sea, passed away

Nellai Kannan, a literary speaker and panel judge known as the Tamil Sea, passed away today due to health problems.

Nellaik Kannan, a famous writer and speaker, has written more than 20 books. He traveled with various leaders of the Congress party including Kamaraj and contested the Legislative Assembly elections 3 times. He contested twice in Nellai constituency and once against Karunanidhi in Chennai’s Chepakkam constituency and lost.

Nellaik Kannan, who had stayed away from political events in recent times, came as a bar speaker and religious discourse. In honor of his contribution to Tamil, he was given the Tamil Nadu Government’s Ilangovadilar Award for the year 2022. For the past few days, he was avoiding participating in outdoor activities due to ill health.

Nellai Kannan kept the name of the town in front of his name due to his attachment to the place where he was born. However, due to old age and poor health, he passed away at his home in Nellie Town. Currently, his body is kept for public tribute. Nellaik Kannan’s funeral is expected to take place tomorrow.
