Thanks to the evidence presented by the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), the former mayor of Soyapango, Nercy Patricia Montano de Martínez, and four other defendants are sent to the trial stage and will remain in provisional detention.
The 1st Investigative Court of Soyapango evaluated the evidence presented, the testimonies and expert reports that demonstrate that unnecessary and non-transparent expenses were made in the management of municipal funds by the accused.
The former municipal employees prosecuted are: Nercy Patricia Montano de Martínez, Ruth Raquel Aguilar de Montano, Francisco Antonio Henríquez Molina, Salvador Orlando Montano Méndez and Ricardo Arturo Roque Baires, private individual.
The crimes attributed to them are: appropriation or withholding of labor quotas, breach of duties, embezzlement, violation of labor or social security conditions, illicit negotiations and arbitrary acts.
In the case of the accused Roque Baires, he is prosecuted because the accused illegally awarded him a contract to execute a municipal work for an amount of $187,530,012. Also, he is charged with the crime of ideological falsehood, by inserting false information in the documentation with which he was economically favored.
