Once the correction has been made in the Civil Registry, people will have a period of eight business days to update their citizenship card or identity card at any office of the National Registry of Civil Status.
The decree emphasizes that the modification of the sex component will not affect the legal personality of those who opt for this changewhich means that your legal identity will remain intact, and the continuity of your rights and obligations before the State will be guaranteed.
