The government approved the creation of special economic zones (SEZ) in three regions – Orenburg, Smolensk and Ivanovo regions. As noted in the message of the Cabinet of Ministers, this will become an additional incentive for the development of the regions.

At least eight companies will appear on the territory of the Orenburg Region SEZ, among them are producers of plastic pipes, drilling equipment, and lithium-titanium batteries for warehouse equipment. In addition, a line for deep processing of meat will be launched at the site and a transport and logistics terminal will be opened. 1.67 billion rubles will be allocated from the regional budget to create the necessary infrastructure, private investments by 2030 will amount to about 8.9 billion rubles. The authorities expect that the creation of the SEZ will create more than 900 jobs.

At least six investment projects will be implemented in the Stabna SEZ of the Smolensk Region, including a knitted fabric factory, an off-road truck assembly plant and a peat processing plant. The authorities intend to attract 10.5 billion rubles. private investment, more than 600 jobs will be created. The Ivanovo SEZ will be created in the Ivanovo region. Five residents are planning to start working here, among them are manufacturers of knitted fabric, cotton yarn, and fabrics for workwear. The volume of investments in production will exceed 8 billion rubles, 3200 people will be employed at the new enterprises.

SEZs are created for the development of industry, high-tech industries, tourism and port infrastructure. Income tax for all types of SEZ is 2% to the federal budget and from 0 to 13.5% to regional budgets; property tax – 0% for 10 years; transport tax – up to 0% at the discretion of the region.
