Wellington: New Zealand cricketer and opener for CSK in the IPL series Daven Conway is set to undergo surgery on a thumb injury. As a result, he will not be able to participate in the IPL series starting on the 22nd.

New Zealand’s opening batsman Daven Conway injured his left thumb during the 2nd T20I match against Australia on 23rd of last month. Following this, Daven Conway did not participate in the first Test match against Australia which ended yesterday.

In this case, after medical tests, doctors have advised Daven Conway to undergo surgery. Following this, Daven Conway has decided to undergo surgery this week. It is expected to take 8 weeks to return to full fitness after treatment. Due to this, Daven Conway will not be able to participate in the IPL series starting on 22nd.

In 2022, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bid for Daven Conway for Rs 1 crore. As a left-handed batsman, Daven Conway has so far played 23 matches for CSK in the IPL, scoring 924 runs at an average of 46.12 and a strike rate of 141.28.

CSK will face Royal Challengers in their opening match of the IPL starting on 22nd. With 17 days to go before the start of the IPL season 17 matches, Daven Conway’s injury has given CSK a bit of a setback.
