Ninja: Twitch streamer diagnosed with skin cancer

‘Ninja’, the number one streamer on the Twitch platform, revealed that he had been diagnosed with cancer of the skin through suspension that went round the X.

How Ninja announced he was diagnosed with cancer

“Okay, I’m still a little shocked, but I want to keep you all updated,” wrote the 32-year-old Fortnite player – real name Tyler Blevins – who has a record 19 million followers on Twitch.

He explained that doctors had found an olive on his leg after he went for a check-up to a dermatologist at the urging of his wife Jessica. “There was an olive on the bottom of my leg that they wanted to remove just to be careful,” described Blevins, who also has nearly 24 million followers on YouTube. “It came back as melanoma, but they’re optimistic we caught it at an early stage.”

According to the Mayo Clinic, melanoma is a type of skin cancer associated with exposure to ultraviolet radiation of the type produced by the sun, tanning beds, and other sources. One of the most common skin cancers in younger people, melanoma is generally indicated by changes in existing moles, although it can grow on otherwise healthy skin.

Who is the streamer?

Ninja has become synonymous with Twitch since returning to the streaming site in 2020, following a brief stint on Microsoft’s rival Mixer platform, which shut down in June of that year. Its popularity in the game Fortnite is such that players can pay to make their characters look like nato. As one of the most recognizable names in streaming he has also appeared in mainstream programs such as ‘The Masked Singer US’.
