SHE also hoped for a heavenly windfall.
When “Who wants to be a millionaire?” candidate Dagmar Sprenger-Fuchs played for the money on Monday evening, an angel kept his fingers crossed. And not just any angel, but a prominent one! What Günther Jauch (66) of course knew, but the TV viewers only found out from him later: His candidate has a famous daughter!
▶︎ First things first.
Right at the beginning, the woman from Rhineland-Palatinate amazed the moderator because she solved the selection question in just TWO seconds.
In fact, Dagmar had just guessed and been lucky – she got on the guessing chair. With Jauch, she was immediately in the mood to chat: Dagmar said that she used to work as a nurse for a long time before she gave up her job and opened a cat boarding house. She still runs it today with her husband.
People with a small budget could also pay their prices, said Sprenger-Fuchs. Because: “I want to make a small contribution to animal welfare. A poor pensioner has to put her animal somewhere.”
Only after the 4000 euro question did Jauch talk about the personal contact of his candidate in show business. The moderator: “Because you just talked about your sons: You also have a daughter. And she can sing, too.”
Dagmar didn’t want to come out with the language right away. When Jauch asked where her daughter was singing, she replied: “Currently in America.” The quiz master asked: “Who is she singing with?” Only then did Dagmar hesitantly reveal: “With the ‘No Angels’.” Her daughter: singer Sandy Mölling (41), who lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two sons.
In the year 2000, the “No Angels” emerged from the talent show “Popstars”, after which they landed one hit after the other. Sandy’s mother can still vividly remember the breakthrough of the girl group.
Mama Dagmar about this time: “The girls lived out of a suitcase for 320 days. I wouldn’t say that was healthy. That was madness.”
Jauch asked curiously what it’s like to be the mother of a “No Angel”: “Are you proud or do you shake your head when your daughter makes such a career?”
The mother of four replies: “I have to be honest: At the beginning it felt like someone had inserted a video and I was watching a video. But you get used to it.”
Germany’s most successful girl band broke up in 2003 to start a comeback in 2007. In 2014 the final separation took place.
After that, it took another seven years until four of the original five girls from the original cast found each other again for a reunion. Just in time for the 20th band anniversary. Dagmar remembered “Who wants to be a millionaire”: “Actually, only one concert was planned in Berlin’s Wuhlheide. I was there and had goosebumps.”
Unfortunately, the quiz show was rather mediocre for Jauch’s candidate.
In the 16,000 euro question, Dagmar Sprenger-Fuchs had to pass. Jauch wanted to know: “The German logo bears a striking resemblance to the Ukrainian flag …? A: train, B: post office, C: pension insurance (correct answer), D: fairy tale road.
Dagmar called her husband Detlef, but he didn’t know either. Without another joker, she finally gave up and ended up taking 8,000 euros home with her. From the money there should be new car rims.
