Broadcaster Noh Hong-cheol admitted that he was assaulted by senior officers while serving in the military, but “I deserved it.”
On the 17th, Lee Min-wook, a successor to the military and head of a fashion business, appeared on Noh Hong-chul’s YouTube channel and revealed an anecdote about his time in the military with Noh Hong-chul.
On this day, Lee Min-wook recalled, “When I joined, Noh Hong-chul was a very high-ranking sergeant, and I was a private,” and “(Noh Hong-chul) always said ‘I’m leaving,’ which is a popular phrase, even in the military.”
Noh Hong-cheol said, “Many people doubt it, but I enlisted with a very excellent physical rating. Everything, mentally and physically, was fine. “I enlisted in 2000 with a level 1 physical condition,” he said. “When I enlisted, it was surprisingly different from the world I lived in.”
He continued, “What I liked most about the military was the end of the couple’s look. Everyone wore the same clothes. “I was so excited,” he said. “No one would carelessly entrust something important or dangerous to me, but they gave me a gun. “It was so good,” he said.
The problem was the way he spoke. Noh Hong-cheol said, “Isn’t my way of speaking a little different? But they didn’t let me do this. I like being called by nicknames, so I called him ‘hyungnim’ (to my seniors), but he didn’t like it. “So it was correct,” he said.
Lee Min-wook, who heard this, said, “It was a unit where there was a lot of beating. He added, “I worked in a guard post called a guard platoon, and discipline was strict.”

Noh Hong-cheol also said, “You have to hand wash there yourself. What’s really difficult are new recruits like Lee Min-wook, who have to wash their clothes by hand, and all the seniors have been washing machines,” he said. “I thought that when I was a private or a private, you wouldn’t be able to imagine putting laundry in the washing machine, so I just put it in. So it was comfortable for two years,” he explained.
And then Noh Hong-cheol was hit hard. He said, “The reason I was beaten so hard once was that I was asked to write my name on my underwear, and I wrote ‘Handsome’. I wanted to become a handsome man. “But my senior saw it,” he said. “So I remember being very struck by it at the time.” There’s nothing wrong with that person. “I had to get hit,” he said. He added, “So when I became a senior employee, I made sure my subordinates used the washing machine.”
Lastly, Noh Hong-chul said, “For me, my time in the military was the best. It was a moment when it hit me. After about a month, the seniors also treated me well because time passed quickly when they went out on guard duty with me. “The people I met in the military are precious to me.”
At the same time, “By chance, my life in the entertainment industry was the same (as it was during my military days). Thanks to the military, I have already proven that I can show myself as I am. “In a way, thanks to the military, I gained confidence in broadcasting,” he said. “If there is a direction I want to go in, regardless of whether there is a misunderstanding or not, if I persist, I will admit it later.”
