Residents of Norway are complaining about the damage caused by NATO troops and equipment during exercises held in the country. This was reported by the magazine of the Norwegian Armed Forces Forsvarets forum, citing the staff officer for environmental protection of the Operational Headquarters of the Norwegian Armed Forces (AF) Marianne Bo, Day.Az reports with reference to Gazeta.ru.

The publication reports that during and after the exercise, the Norwegian armed forces received 116 damage reports from residents of the Finnmark region. The country’s armed forces estimated that the total damage ranged from three to eight million crowns.

In particular, local residents reported fences and lamps, buildings, cars and ski slopes being destroyed by heavy military equipment. Marianne Bo also announced recorded cases of “accumulation of technical materials and debris in the snow, as well as environmental pollution.”

NATO military exercise Nordic Response began in Scandinavia on March 5.
