BOLZANO. Unusual intervention by the Carabinieri of Ora, in Alto Adige, the other evening during the usual evening patrol service. Around 10 pm, while walking along the streets of the town centre, the soldiers noticed a rabbit on the edge of the road, clearly domestic, visibly lost and in danger.

Concerned for the safety of the small animal, the Carabinieri immediately got out of the vehicle, taking the rabbit into custody before it could be hit by a passing vehicle. The tender four-legged friend, a Cashmere Lop breed, was then fed and cared for by the military throughout the night, waiting to find his rightful owner.

The search was started immediately, and yesterday the Carabinieri managed to identify the person who was in fact looking for his small animal called “Blitz”, or lightning. The owner, a lady living in Ora, was tracked down and, upon hearing the news of the discovery, she could not hide her joy and relief. When the soldiers returned the lost bunny to her, the emotion was palpable: between smiles and words of thanks, the lady expressed her profound gratitude for the timely and thoughtful intervention of the Carabinieri.
