New Delhi: 117 former judges and IAS officers have said that the Supreme Court judges who heard the Nubar Sharma case have crossed the Lakshmanan line.

Former BJP Spokesperson Nubur Sharma’s comment on Prophet Mohammad has become a subject of international debate. Subsequently, he has been removed from the rank of basic member of BJP.

However, various protests are being conducted against Nubur Sharma. Those who speak in his favor are brutally murdered. Cases have been filed against him in various states.

Supreme Court Judges Suriyakanth and Parthiwala heard the case related to this issue on 1st. The judges then said, “Nubur Sharma has set the country on fire with his irresponsible speech. He should appear on television and apologize.”

15 retired judges, 77 retired IAS officers and 117 former officers including 25 retired Defense Force officers have said in a letter sent to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court NV Ramana:

In a democratic country, all departments of the government must function within the framework of the Constitution. The Supreme Court judges who heard the Nubur Sharma case crossed the Lakshmanan line.

The judge’s opinion has caused a stir not only in India but also abroad. Aspects that are not covered in the order are exaggerated in news channels. This is not in line with judicial philanthropy. It is unintelligent to say that Nubur Sharma is solely responsible for the current events in the country.

The judges’ comments have scarred the Indian judiciary. Democracy and national security are also threatened. Convicting Nubur Sharma without a proper trial is against the democratic process. It says so.
