Oaxaca police protest after failing to pass confidence control exam

Around 200 municipal police officers, who failed to pass the confidence control exam, protested in the vicinity of the Plaza de la Danza in the Oaxacan capital, facing the possibility of being dismissed from their positions.

As part of the delivery and reception procedures in the municipality of Oaxaca, members of the police were subjected to a confidence control test, the negative result of which could imply separation from their positions.

Under the slogan “Police officers also have families,” the elements were posted from 8:00 a.m. to request a meeting with their authorities and resolve their situation.

In this regard, the city council reported that despite the protest there were no effects on subsequent shifts, so all elements were deployed to their assigned places; It was also ruled out that the public security service in the city is on strike.

The protest caused traffic chaos in the state capital, after people linked to the police, presumably family members and hooded, blocked some streets with trucks.

The confidence control exam is considered a requirement for elements to obtain police certification and consists of psychological, psychometric, medical, and polygraph tests; as well as anti-doping tests.
