Today marks one year since the Hamas attacks on Israeli territory, in which 1,200 people died and 250 others were kidnapped, and the subsequent Israeli ground incursion into the Gaza Strip. In one year, more than 41,500 Palestinians died and 90% of the population was forcibly displaced. As Israel continues to wage war in Gaza, and now Lebanon, mourning crowds have begun ceremonies in Israel honoring the victims of October 7.
