“It was tough for those couple of years before [Silent Hill 2’s] release,” said director/producer Jacek Zieba in an interview with Gamespot. “Now there’s a positive atmosphere inside the studio. We want to demonstrate what we can achieve independently and how we can evolve our ideas.”

Wojciech Piejko, director/designer at Bloober Team, praised the hard work of the team behind the remake, stating, “They recreated a legendary game and faced immense pressure and criticism during development, yet they delivered a product we’re truly proud of.”

Zieba reiterated the studio’s focus, saying, “We aspire to be a horror company. We have identified our niche and aim to evolve naturally, reflecting our earlier work, notably with [2016’s] Layers of Fear.

Piejko added, “Our team is passionate about horror; switching genres would be challenging and isn’t something we wish to pursue.”

Eurogamer’s enthusiastic review praised Bloober Team for expanding on Silent Hill 2 while keeping its core essence intact, awarding the game a noteworthy five out of five stars.

Since its global launch on October 8, Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 Remake has achieved impressive sales, surpassing one million copies across both physical and digital platforms, potentially establishing it as the best-selling game in the franchise’s history.

Despite the warm reception, some players have encountered glitches affecting their gameplay, specifically a soft-lock issue some players are facing at the Brookhaven Hospital level. Stay tuned as we provide updates on potential fixes and workarounds.
