BOLZANO. There’s still a few more days to go New Year’sbut the explosion of firecrackers it is already a continuous inconvenience for the inhabitants of Beyondsarcowho had no respite even on Christmas Day. The afternoon inside the Mignone park is punctuated by increasingly loud shots of raudi, paper bombs, and other firecrackers lit by gangs of kids on holiday from school. A disrespectful but above all forbidden behavior, for which you risk one fine of at least fifty euros.
Pet owners and other residents of the neighborhood protest because those who explode the barrels, in addition to not caring about the ban, also ignore the pleas of those who try to explain to them how harmful their behavior can be. Dogs terrified of leaving the house, and owners forced to load them into the car to take them to quieter areas of the city. Not to mention cats and birds, who risk heartbreak with every shot fired nearby.
«Many people started bringing their dogs to Castel Flavon because they refused to do their business, and they were afraid to go to the park which was being attacked by these gangs of kids – protests a resident in a letter sent to our newspaper – The problem is that no one educates them: it would be enough to explain to them the harm they do and almost everyone would understand by choosing other games. For example, signs could be put up in the park explaining how uncivilized this game is, pointing out that it is also forbidden.” Residents describe this situation as “a nightmare that started on Halloween”which has already lasted for two months, and can only get worse as the end-of-year celebration approaches. Those responsible, however, will not go unpunished: ad hoc controls are planned to stem this problem which creates many inconveniences for citizens.
